Begin your Tuscan adventure with one night’s lodging in a four-star hotel in the center of Florence, then ride with other tour participants into the Tuscan countryside for a six-night, seven-day all-inclusive food and wine adventure that takes you into the homes and kitchens of an artisan cheese maker, an organic olive oil and wine producer, a Cinta Senese meat producer, great casalinga cooks and renowned Tuscan chefs. Explore famous Tuscan cities and towns including Siena, San Gimignano, and Monteriggioni. Visit a Chianti Classico winery for a cellar tasting tour and lunch. Enjoy hikes in the countryside or naps by the poolside, dine in village trattorie and get to know the locals of our favorite little Tuscany village, Radicondoli. Enjoy deluxe lodging and mouth watering breakfasts in a beautiful, eco-sustainably restored 17th century farmhouse nestled in the hills an easy stroll outside the sweet village of Radicondoli.

 

Your Tuscan experience begins with a night in a four-star hotel in Florence, where you will have the opportunity to explore the city on your own and rest up before the exciting week ahead. We will pick you up the next day at noon, just outside the city center at the Porta Romana, and take you to Radicondoli, where a your beautiful apartment and a delicious lunch will be waiting for you at Il Bel Canto B&B.

Il Campo Cucina is a an unforgettable week-long immersion into Tuscan food, wine and culture. One day you will learn to make homemade pasta in a farm kitchen, and the next day cook alongside a world famous  chef. Another day you may have lunch with a shepherd and his family enjoying their artisan cheeses, and the next day, tour the campo of a contadino and see how local families produce the food, wine and olive oil that sustain them through the year.  You will witness first hand in numerous ways the Tuscan passion for il campo–”the field”–where sustainability and the good life are time honored traditions.

Il Campo Cucina is a week of true magic, an immersion into the simple true life shared in kitchens and and around a table, hiking farm fields and exploring villages, tasting wines and artisan cheeses. Perhaps most special of all, you will make new friends with people from around the world and become part of a small Tuscan village that will embrace you as family before you say good-bye.

Whether you are a serious cook or just want to enjoy great Tuscan meals and wines with terrific people in a beautiful setting, Il Campo Cucina will provide you with an authentic travel experience that you can take home to your own life and kitchen.

Your all-inclusive Tuscan culinary adventure week provides:

  • The first night in a 4-star hotel in the center of Florence, where you will have the opportunity to arrive at your leisure and explore one of the world’s most beautiful cities on your own. If you like, you can meet other tour participants and share a drink or dinner together.
  • Deluxe lodging for six nights in a beautifully restored farmhouse near the charming medieval village of Radicondoli.
  • All meals with local wines provided, in local farmhouses, at outstanding restaurants, and in homey trattorie in the surrounding countryside. A daily breakfast with home baked breads and tarts, locally produced eggs, cheeses, marmalades and more will be served in a communal dining room.
  • Four hands-on cooking classes followed by lunch or dinner with talented and engaging instructors, from casalinga (housewife) style to Michelin-rated chefs. We provide a list of ingredients and a recipe journal for note taking. English interpreters are always present; the classes are collaborative, spirited, inspiring and fun.
  • A visit to a local sheep farm with a pecorino cheese tasting and tour, followed by a delectable lunch with the shepherd’s family. In the spring, we will watch the process of making a variety of sheep’s milk cheeses.
  • A cellar tour and tasting followed by lunch in a beautiful Chianti Classico winery.
  • Shopping and sight-seeing excursions to famous Tuscan cities and towns, including Siena, San Gimignano, and Monteriggioni.
  • Hikes around Radicondoli to explore the woods and farm fields, and gather plants and wild herbs for cooking our meals.
  • An abundance of seasonal local farm products (Il Campo Cucina is a kilometer zero cooking school, promoting local and seasonal products).
  • Participation in village festivals as they coincide with our program schedule.
  • An Il Campo Cucina commemorative apron, cooking and wine tasting journal and certificate of completion.
  • All local ground transportation.
  • Pick-up in Florence at the Porta Romana at 12:00 noon on Day Two and drop-off at the Porta Romana by 1:00 or by special arrangement* at the Santa Maria Novella train station or Florence Peretola Airport on Day Seven of your week.
  • Airfare is not included.

Price: $3,950 Double occupancy; $500 single room supplement.   A completed booking form and a $1,000 deposit is required to secure your place.
